Kongsberger Ozbaldy 50k, 30k & 10k Freestyle Ski Races 20k/5k Para Nordic Sunday, March 1, 2026

The 25rd annual Ozbaldy 50k is the last of three Kongsberger Ski Club cross country ski races this winter. The Ozbaldy 50k is western Washington's only XC ski marathon.
This year we are using a chip timing system.

The 2026 Ozbaldy Ski Race format will be similar to last year. All race check-in, preparation, start/finish, timing and awards will occur outdoors in the Stadium area where the timing shed is located.

 50k ♦ Freestyle (skate or classic) Technique

 30k ♦ Freestyle (skate or classic) Technique
  Masters & Seniors: $45
  Juniors: $5 (age 16 - 19)
 10k ♦ Freestyle (skate or classic) Technique
  Masters & Seniors: $45
  Juniors: $5 (age 8 - 19)
 20k & 5k ♦ Para Nordic
  Masters & Seniors: $50(20k) / $45(5k)
  Juniors: $5
 • Juniors are age 19 and younger (U20, age as of 12/31/2025).
 • Racers & coaches, contact the Race Director if you have questions.

 • Online Registration (Webscorer) opens February 13, and closes 11:59 p.m.. Friday, February 27.
    Early registration ends Thursday, February 26 at 11:59 pm (3 days before race).
    Late registration with $35 late fee begins Thursday February 26 at 11:59 pm, until
       registration closes Friday February 27 at 11:59 pm (day before race).
    There will not be any registration extensions.

 • Register early to avoid late fee.
 • No day of race registration.
 • No refunds (except for race cancelation).

 • Bib pick-up for all racers on race day between 7:30am and 8:45am in the Stadium / timing shed area.
 • Mass wave starts (check Webscorer registration page for schedule updates):
   50k: mass start at 9:00 am
   30k: mass start soon after 50k.
   10k: mass start soon after 30k.
   Para Nordic: TBD.
   Start times are estimates, check on race day.
 • Return bibs and timing chips at finish line.
 • Race timing ends sometime after 1:00 PM. Check on race day.
 • Ski changes during race are not allowed.
 • If you have a question about the race, contact the race director.

The timing chip strap must be worn on RIGHT ankle with the chip facing out and upright.

The replacement fee for any lost or non-returned chips is $40, which can be paid at the link below.

To protect the health of our environment and skiers, no waxes using fluorocarbon can be used in Kongsberger Races. This is currently an honor system.
This includes waxes that are Low Fluoro, High Fluoro, or pure fluoro (powders, blocks and liquids) This also includes fluorinated kick waxes and klisters. Swix VR waxes and klisters contain fluorocarbons. Many waxes today are labeled if they contain fluorocarbons.

Cabin and race course are on the north side of interchange at Cabin Creek Sno-Park, exit #63 on I-90, 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Washington State Parks Sno-Park permit with Grooming Sticker required to park. Click here to purchase Seasonal or 1-day permit.
Parking is limited. Please consider car-pooling.
This event is provided under a special use permit from the US Forest Service.

Kongsberger race course is on the Cabin Creek trail system on US Forest Service land, north side of I-90.
50k race is five laps, 30k race is three laps, 10k race is one lap. Course follows the Road & Berg-Viking-Boundary loop trails.

50k & 30k distances include Ozbaldy for first lap. Check race course map at bib pickup on race day.

Food for racers provided at start/lap/finish area. Feed and water station on course is stocked with water, Gatorade, and Clif Shots. 50k is a grueling race - racers should carry any drinks or food needed during the race.

Race results are available on Webscorer during and after the race.

Top 3 mens and womens awards for the 50k race.
Outdoor awards ceremony and raffle around noon.

Closest accomodations are in Cle Elum (20 miles east), and at Snoqualmie Pass summit (11 miles west).

All ski trails are still open to non-racing skiers. Non-racing skiers are invited to watch races at the start/lap/finish area or along the trails. However, they should consider skiing at another location on race mornings (eg Hyak, Crystal Springs or Lake Easton) as Cabin Creek parking and trail use will be intensive from 8:00 to 12:00 noon. As always, dogs are not permitted on groomed trails at Cabin Creek.
