Kongsberger Stampede

New this year:  NO day-of-race registration for this race.

The Kongsberger Stampede is the second of three Kongsberger Ski Club cross-country ski races this winter and the club's oldest race. The Stampede is a fun and approachable race for both new and experienced racers.

(Note: A Children's Freestyle Race is run on the same day at 10:55 am for younger skiers.)

  15k and 5k freestyle (skate or classic) technique races.
  Open to all skiers age class U16 (J2) and up (14 years and older)

Start Times
Mass starts, in waves by speed.
  15k - first wave 10:00 AM
  5k - immediately after last 15k wave
Race cut-off times may be imposed, check on race day.

North side of interchange at Cabin Creek Sno-Park, exit #63 on I-90, 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Washington State Parks Sno-Park permit with Grooming Sticker required to park. Season and 1-day permits for purchase online. Racers may use the Kongsberger club cabin and waxing shed on race days.

Race Course
Course is on Kongsberger trail system (trail map) on US Forest Service land, north side of I-90. 15k race is three laps, 5k race is one lap. Course generally follows the Berg-Viking-Boundary loop trails. Check race course map in cabin on race day.

Juniors are age 19 and younger (born on/after 1/1/1998)

Online registration is required for this race.
Online Registration closed at 9:00 pm Saturday, Feb 3.

This is an mass start race with several waves, and racers indicate their preferred seeding (faster, medium, slower) at time of registration.

Juniors - Parent Waiver Required
Skiers under 18 years old must print out the Junior Waiver, have it signed by a parent or guardian, and hand it in to registration on race day. No exceptions.

Bib Pick-up & Return
Bib pick-up for all racers from 8:30 to 9:30 AM on race day in basement of Kongsberger cabin. Return bibs at finish line.

Feed Stations & Post-Race Food
Food for racers provided at finish area. Water station on course is stocked with water and Nuun (electrolytes but no calories). Racers should carry any drinks or food needed during the race. Post-race hot food and beverages in cabin.

Awards, Medals & Prizes
Top 3 mens and womens awards for each race given at post-race ceremony. Age group winners announced and pick up medals downstairs in cabin after ceremony. Draw prizes at ceremony, must be present to win.

Closest accomodations are in Cle Elum (20 miles east), and at Snoqualmie Pass summit (11 miles west). Please check back later for additional lodging options.

Non-Racing Skiers & Spectators
Non-racing skiers are invited to watch races at the start/lap/finish area or along the trails. However, they should consider skiing at another location on race mornings (eg Lake Easton, Crystal Springs or Hyak) as Cabin Creek parking and trail use will be intensive from 9:00 to noon. As always, dogs are not permitted on groomed trails at Cabin Creek.
