2017 Kongsberger Ski Club Children's Races

Kongsberger Ski Club will hold two Children's Races for age 17 (U18 aka J1) and younger skiers this winter. The first race is on Monday (Presidents Day), the day after the Gunnar Hagen race. The second is on Sunday, the day of the Stampede race. These fun races offer a choice of short distances to encourage young skiers to race, and are part of the Washington Cup series.

Classic Race - Monday, January 16
  4k, 2k, 1k and .5k distances
  11 a.m. - Mass start for each distance
  Open to all skiers U18 (J1) and under (17 years and younger)

Freestyle Race - Sunday, February 12
  2k, 1k and .5k distances
  10:55 a.m. - Mass start for each distance
  Open to all skiers U14 (J3) and under (13 years and younger)
  U16 and older skiers will race in the Stampede 5k race (10:00 am start)

North side of interchange at Cabin Creek Sno-Park, exit #63 on I-90, 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Sno-Park permit and Washington State Grooming Sticker required to park. 1-day permits for purchase online. Racers may use the Kongsberger club cabin and waxing shed on race days.

Race Course
Course is on Kongsberger trail system (trail map) on US Forest Service land, north side of I-90. Check course map in cabin on race day.

Cost - Free !!

Day of race registration only - no pre-registration. Register before 10 a.m. in the KSC cabin (north of I-90). Registration them moves to the stadium area, near timing shed at start area. Waiver signed by parent or legal guardian is required.

Juniors - Parent Waiver Required
All skiers in Childrens races must fill out a registration form and have a parent or legal guardian sign their waiver. If parent or guardian will not be present on race day, then print out the Junior Waiver from Kongsbergers web site, have it signed by a parent or guardian, and bring it to registration on race day. No exceptions.

Bib Pick-up & Return
Pick up bibs at registration on race day. Return bibs at finish line.

Feed Stations & Post-Race Food -- No feed stations on course. Post-race hot food and beverages in cabin.

Awards, Medals & Prizes -- In cabin after race.
