The 2021 Gunnar Hagen Ski Race format will be different, from previous years, in order to maintain safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be offering a virtual 30k and 10k race. Racers can choose their own start days and times within the 9-day race period, from Saturday January 16- Sunday January 24, 2021. Participants can complete the race as many times as they choose during the race period.SAFETY
Kongsberger Ski Club is following current state and county public health guidelines related to COVID-19 for this event. However, risk of COVID-19 exposure still exists. Your participation in this event is entirely voluntary and all participants assume the risk of exposure, which KSC cannot guarantee against. As such, KSC is not responsible for any possible COVID-19 exposure.RACE DETAILS
30k Virtual ♦ Classic Technique
Fee: $30 ($5 for juniors)
10k Virtual ♦ Classic Technique
Fee: $25 ($5 for juniors)
Juniors are age 19 and younger (born on/after 1/1/2001)
The KSC cabin and wax shed are off limits, due to COVID. We encourage racers to carry their own revitalizing liquids and water (and food) with them, as there will not be any provided during or at the race.
You select your distance, pay one registration fee, and you can make as many attempts as you want during the race window from Saturday January 16, 2021 at 6:00AM until Sunday January 24, 2021 at 4:00PM.
Each racer will have to use their own unique email address for race registration. This is because the event is tied to the racer's Webscorer account.
All skiers will scan the QR code two times, once at the start and once at the finish.
To keep the timing process streamlined and simplified, we will not be timing laps on Webscorer.
Please keep things fair. At its core, a virtually timed race operates on an honor system. Follow the race course, do not take shortcuts, and please do not have somebody else capture your race times for you. Yes, scanning a QR code with a phone is slower than an automatically scanned chip or having somebody else capture your times for you, but luckily this task will be the same for all the racers.Location
The Kongsberger race course is on the Cabin Creek nordic trail system (course map)
at Cabin Creek Sno-Park on US Forest Service land, exit #63 on I-90, 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass.
Race results are available on Webscorer during and after the race.Awards Ceremony
