Cabin Creek Nordic Grooming Report
(Cabin Creek & Erling Stordahl trail systems)

The Cabin Creek Sno-Park Groomed Trail System is a non-motorized recreation area provided by the
Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, funded by Sno-Park permit fees, and located primarily on USFS land.
The trails are groomed by a private contractor under contract to State Parks.

Rolled all trails. The new snow improved coverage and conditions everywhere but low snow conditions and bare spots remain in lower trails.
We are going to try and set track where possible starting tomorrow.
Erling Stordahl; finished cutting trees and pioneered around all of the trails. Unfortunately we need freezing temperatures feet of more snow to complete any loops, numerous large wet bare spots prevent rolling the loop trails completely. We will set track where possible but it will be very limited and sporadic.

Rolled Berg and The Road. Went up Amabilis to the Y. One tree left blocking the right near top. Rolled all trails several times.
Erling Stordahl rolled trails. Lots of standing water and tree cutting is almost complete.
Heavy snow continues to fall. Convergence Zone is in full effect. We have received 9 inches of new snow, nearly an inch an hour. Parking lot was plowed again at 4:30am

Rolled The Road and Amabilis. Almost made it around the Amabilis loop but one tree remains on the right Y.

Rolled lower trails, The Road and Amabilis to the Y.
Lower trails still have a few waterlogged areas. Amabilis just below saddle has tree across trail and right side another tree across trail.
Erling Stordahl was also rolled where possible. Roller Coaster is blocked by trees. We will be out removing trees during the daylight.

Awaiting USFS Road Closure. DOT has bermed both ends of road.
The Road is snow covered. Many people enjoyed yesterday.
Thank you to all the volunteers that helped clear the numerous down trees.

After heroic effort of volunteers many of the down trees have been cleared. The Road is clear and most of the lower trails.
Unfortunately the USFS has not closed the roads to wheel vehicles so grooming and packing cannot begin. The Cle Elum Ranger station said the closure may not happen until after January 1st. ( so no grooming until then )
